The GNSS 5 Click (part number MIKROE-2670) is a mikroBUS™ expansion board built around the u-blox NEO-M8N GNSS module, providing a turnkey solution for high-performance GPS / GLONASS / Galileo / BeiDou positioning in your embedded designs. It supports both I²C and UART interfaces and operates at a 3.3 V supply.

Notes & Recommendations

  • Ensure your host microcontroller’s I/O is 3.3 V compatible or level-shifted.
  • Use a proper external antenna with optimal placement for best signal reception.
  • Configure baud rate, output sentences (NMEA), and update rates via u-blox configuration (UBX protocol).
  • When using backup battery, connect to V_BCKP pin to maintain RTC and hot-start data.
